I’ve seen a rash of Seagate 2.5″ hard drive failures in the past week

During this week beginning August 13, 2012 I’ve seen four Seagate 2.5″ hard drives fail. All of the drives except one are the 500gb size. The other one was a Seagate ST9640320AS 640gb 2.5″ . This is the first time I’ve ever come across a certain brand and size range fail in multiples all in a week. I was recently looking for a 2.5″ mobile drive bay for a desktop computer. I decided to try the Vantec NexStar SE 2.5″ SATA mobile drive bay. If you recently bought a COOLER MASTER CM Storm Series Trooper case (SGC-5000-KKN1) you may run into problems when installing a 3.5″ USB card reader. The issue I found when I installed my card reader is that the front of the card reader ends up being recessed about 3/8 of an inch from the front of the case.
